Terms of use.
Plain version: use it for what it’s for, don’t try to break it, don’t rely on it as a substitute for professional advice. The detail follows.
1. Agreement
These terms apply to your use of the Blue Tulip Co website (bluetulipco.com) (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
The Service is operated by Blue Tulip Co Pty Ltd, an Australian company. In these terms, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Blue Tulip Co Pty Ltd. “You” means the person using the Service.
2. What the Service is
Blue Tulip Co provides general information about ageing, illness, dying, grief, and related practical and emotional topics. It also includes:
- A written library of plain-language guides.
- Della — a guide that helps you find information in the library.
- Crisis helplines and external resources.
- Printable checklists you can download.
- A list of the official services in each state and territory.
3. Not professional advice
The Service is for information only. It is not legal, medical, financial, or therapeutic advice. You must consult a qualified professional before acting on anything you read here. The full detail is on our disclaimer page.
4. Who can use the Service
The library is open to anyone. Some of it is written for young people: there are guides for teenagers, and Kids Helpline (for ages 5 to 25) is one of the services we list.
If you are under 16, we’d encourage you to read it alongside an adult you trust — a parent, a carer, a teacher, a school counsellor. Not because you are not allowed to be here, but because this is heavy material and it is easier with someone.
The information here describes services available in Australia.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without permission.
- Scrape, copy, or republish substantial portions of our content without permission.
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm any person.
- Attempt to manipulate Della into returning guides for purposes other than finding information in the library.
Where traffic attacks or disrupts the Service, we may block it at our host.
6. Della (library guide)
Della is a search guide built to help you find information in our library. She is not a person. She is not a doctor, counsellor, lawyer, or therapist. She does not compose answers: she matches your words against our guides and links you to them, and she may miss what you meant or suggest the wrong page.
Della’s knowledge is limited to the Blue Tulip Co library. She runs entirely in your browser: nothing you type is sent to us or to anyone else, and nothing is kept once you close the tab. Do not rely on Della for advice, diagnoses, decisions, or facts that matter — always check with a qualified professional or an authoritative source.
Della is not a substitute for emergency services, medical care, or professional advice. If you are in crisis, in immediate danger, or need urgent support, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline directly — do not rely on Della.
7. Our content
The written guides, the design of the Service, the Blue Tulip Co name and logo, and the structure of the library are owned by Blue Tulip Co Pty Ltd. You may read and share links to our content for personal, non-commercial use. You may not republish, rebrand, or use our content commercially without written permission.
8. Service availability
We aim to keep the Service available 24/7 but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. We won’t be liable for downtime.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give reasonable notice.
9. No warranties
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the accuracy, reliability, completeness, suitability, or availability of the Service or anything in it.
Nothing in these terms excludes any consumer rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian law, including the Australian Consumer Law (see section 13).
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Blue Tulip Co Pty Ltd, its directors, contributors, and reviewers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited under Australian law, our total liability to you is limited to (at our option) resupplying the Service or paying the cost of having the Service resupplied.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Blue Tulip Co Pty Ltd against any loss, damage, or claim arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
12. Governing law
Because Blue Tulip Co Pty Ltd is an Australian company, these terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you and Blue Tulip Co Pty Ltd submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria for any dispute. This does not remove any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll let you know on the website before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the new terms.
14. Severability
If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest remain in effect.
15. Contact
